How do you kick off the final season of one of Netflix’s biggest original shows?
A red-carpet takeover of Hollywood Boulevard is a good start, but our challenge was to build a virtual fan experience into the IRL premiere, engaging a passionate global fandom and integrating them directly into the Stranger Things 5 campaign.
Our premiere transmission was broadcast from the in-world WSQK radio station of Hakwins. Three hosts stationed at different points on the carpet interviewed the Stranger Things cast, including special questions from fans themselves. They spoke with fans waiting alongside the carpet entrance to hear from them directly about their love for the series, and engaged with the virtual audience through special giveaways and interactive games.
The experience was a celebration of the fandom that made Stranger Things such a runaway success, highlighting the core of why it is so beloved by communities worldwide.
