Grace Bosley – Editor

In continuing our “Meet the Butcher Bird” series, where we showcase our amazing crew, we’re sitting down with one of our talented editors, Grace Bosley, who discusses her seasoned background in acting, her journey before Butcher Bird, and one thing she wishes she knew before she started her career.

Can you tell us a bit about your background prior to Butcher Bird Studios?

My background is in film, with most of my experience coming from acting. I’ve always dabbled in directing, producing, writing, and editing as well. When the pandemic put most productions on hold, I took on more editing work. And eventually, I gladly found my way to Butcher Bird Studios.

Can you describe your role at Butcher Bird Studios?

I am an editor at Butcher Bird. And along with a couple of others, I remind the team to do their push ups and stretching!:)

What’s your most memorable project with the team and why?

The most memorable project was my first ever project with the team. It stands out because it was on-location in the awesome area of Cupertino, CA and it lasted for several weeks. Being on-location seems to promote team bonding.

Is there anything you wish you knew before starting your career?

I wish I had known that freelancing is not nearly as scary as people think. When you have a skill that is always in high demand all over the world, there is nothing to be worried about.

What does the future look like for the industry? What’s the next big thing?

The future of the entertainment industry is definitely going to be heavily social media based and likely involve streaming. A lot of people crave the connection that only social media can provide. There will also probably be a form of virtual reality that is controlled by thoughts and not a lot of movement.

Finally – how do you spend your free time outside of work?

Outside of work? I don’t understand the question… No in all seriousness, I spend my time going to social gatherings, nature and urban hiking, dancing, doing yoga and listening to audiobooks.
